How it Started

Four years ago, I started practicing Pilates as a client after suffering from severe, chronic back pain caused by the heavy physical demands of my job as a postman. Within a remarkably short time, my back pain completely resolved! Experiencing that level of relief firsthand made me realise how powerful targeted movement really is, and I was hooked.

Having felt the awesome benefits myself, I was inspired to step into teaching so I could help others regain control over their physical health.

Professional Qualifications & Education

I began my formal instructor training by completing a classical Foundations course under master teacher Amy Kellow. To achieve full mastery across all studio apparatus, I went on to complete a 600-hour Comprehensive Classical Pilates Diploma under Clare Axon-Saunders at The Pilates Barns.

To ground my practical apparatus skills in modern movement science and specialised populations, I completed further education in anatomy, biomechanics, and perinatal fitness.

Blending Classical Tradition with Evidence

I believe movement instruction must evolve alongside modern scientific advancements. To complement my classical background, I completed advanced training in evidence-based Pilates through Breathe Education and continue further education with movement scientist Dr Adam McAtee.

It is important to me that clients benefit from the latest science in movement education. I am passionate about continuing my learning in this area and sharing it through my teaching style.

My Teaching Approach

I absolutely love teaching! My goal is to help you move fearlessly, build functional strength, and gain genuine confidence in your body. I especially enjoy guiding beginners through their first apparatus experiences.

Expect my classes to be full of high energy, encouragement, and fun. (Clare has even described my teaching energy as being like an enthusiastic Labrador and she definitely meant it as a compliment!)

Beyond the Studio

When I am not in the studio teaching, I am a keen runner regularly competing in 10k events. I also spend my time with my gorgeous dog, Rocco, who occasionally visits the studio to say hello!
