Richard - Pilates Instructor

Four years ago, I started Pilates as a client after experiencing chronic back pain, partly due to my job as a Postman. After just a very short time, my back pain completely resolved and I was hooked on Pilates!

Having felt the benefits for myself, I was inspired to train to become a teacher. Initially I  completed a Foundations course with Amy Kellow and then went on to study for a 600 hour, fully comprehensive course with Clare Axon-Saunders. Additionally, I completed an Anatomy and Physiology course with Breathe Education and a Pre-Natal Course with The Active Pregnancy Foundation in association with This Mum Moves.

I love teaching Pilates to my clients! Helping people to move fearlessly, to gain strength and confidence in their body is hugely rewarding. I enjoy teaching beginners and my classes are always fun and enthusiastic. Clare has been known to describe me as an enthusiastic Labrador in my approach – she meant it in a good way!

When I am not teaching, I am a keen runner, regularly taking part in 10k events. I have my gorgeous dog, Rocco, who sometimes visits the studio!

You can find me teaching on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at Luton Hoo, and Fridays at St Albans.
